How to Headstand with Jen: Safe transitions when practising inversions at home/online

Jen’s Headstand Posture Clinic will include the following:
*Understand the anatomy & body structure to safely get into & stay in a variety of headstands.
*Practice warm-up & drills sequences that build strength and prepare you to get upside down
*Break down the components of the pose and learn different transitions to headstand that you may be being offered in online classes.
*To know when to invert and why not to, with options to take instead.
Props – You will need a non-slip yoga mat, a cushion, a yoga block or thick book, strap/belt and a clear wall space that we will use to help us upside down.
Suitable for those with a regular yoga practice that are wanting to build confidence going upside down. You don’t need to be able to headstand already but have an open mind an a willingness to try new things!

Please log into class 10 minutes before so we can start on time and please let me know in advance if you are recovering from any injuries etc.
Jen is co-owner of Oceanflow Yoga Studio. She has been practicing Yoga since 2001 where it quickly became a fierce passion she wished to explore deeper. Her travels took her to studios all over the world where a variety of teachers and styles in London, New York and San Francisco inspired her to become a teacher and share all she’d learned over nearly two decades of practicing regularly.
In 2012 Jen qualified as a 200hr (Yoga Alliance) Seasonal Yoga Teacher and opened Oceanflow Yoga studio with Stretch in Newquay in 2014! In Jen’s classes, the season and the energy of the body are taken into account in order to help people to bring balance back to their body, mind and spirit through all branches of their lives.
In 2019 Jen completed her 300hr advanced teacher training with Laughing Lotus centre in New York & India to add a deeper understanding to the yoga practice and share with all, the amazing benefits that yoga has to offer!
Music is a big part of Jen’s classes so enjoy the euphoric beats at one of her Vinyasa flow and Silent Disco Yoga classes or relax out to soothing tunes during a Mellow session. Also join her to sing Mantra alongside her treasured harmonium!
